QUECHEE SKI SCHOOL

 Ski Quechee is one of the best ski areas to learn at! Perfect for little ones or for adults looking to try out a new sport. The Quechee Ski School is a privately-operated business contracted by Quechee Lakes Landowner’s Association with exclusive rights to teach skiing at the Quechee Ski Hill. Located in the Base Lodge, the Ski School offers group and private lessons for all skills and ages 3 and up.
 

The Ski School is excited to provide lessons for the upcoming 2022/23 ski season. We are taking multiple precautions to provide a safe and enjoyable lesson experience, and will continue with some modified safety protocols. Priority access to the Ski School will be given to Members of The Quechee Club, then to Family Guests of club Members, then season pass holders. Additional capacity may be released based on availability.

 

This season we expect to see a larger volume of lesson requests and lessons will be limited. The Ski School reserves the right to cancel lessons for any reason, including but not limited to changes in the State of Vermont's operation guidance, instructor availability or extreme weather.

Ski School Sign Up, Payment & Cancellation

How to Sign Up

This year we have taken a few steps to make the sign-up process more efficient. Please call (802) 295-3929 to sign up.  If you reach voicemail, please leave a message with your name and a phone number where we can return your call late afternoon or early evening.

After initially signing up by phone you will receive a confirmation email with details about the lesson(s). Here you will also see a link to an on line waiver. Your reservation is not finalized until the completed form has been returned electronically. Participant's date of birth is a required field. Misrepresenting the child’s age will result in termination of the lesson which will be charged in full.

Further adjustments to the lessons can be made throughout the season by contacting the ski school via the email provided in the confirmation notice.

Payment information will be taken on the phone. You will be charged separately for each lesson on the day of the lesson.



 

Payment and Cancellation

Members - Please provide your Member ID# for lesson reservation and payment.

Non-Members - A credit card will be required to hold your reservation, and will be charged the day of the lesson.

Cancelation & No-Shows
All cancelations are subject to a $25 cancelation fee. Notice of cancelation is required by noon the day before a lesson. With this in mind, we ask that you please choose lesson dates and times carefully. No-shows will be charged in full.

If the participant is sick or has symptoms, the Ski School will give credit for the lesson to be used sometime this season as long as we are notified by 7:15am the day of the lesson.  

Anyone who cancels due to symptoms should not be on the hill during the day of the canceled the lesson. Those choosing to ski on a day where symptoms have been reported will be charged in full for the lesson that day.

2022-23 SKI SCHOOL

Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Private lessons will be available for individuals who have reached the age of a three and a half by day of the lesson. Semi-private lessons are for more capable skiers who need less assistance.

Lesson times are as follows, please meet at the ski school area 5 minutes prior to the lesson start time.

Private Lessons (60 Minutes) - $130
Semi-Private Lessons (60 Minutes) - $180

2:15 pm - 3:15 pm

Private Lessons (90 Minutes) - $190
Semi-Private Lessons (90 Minutes) - $240

We recognize that parents may need to take on a greater role with the instruction of their children this year. We could provide a semi-private lesson to a child and adult where the adult would like to be involved in the instruction of the child. This choice should be made carefully since younger children often have difficulty taking direction from the instructor when the parent is present.


 

Group Lessons Beginner Children (Need Lift Assistance)

These groups are for children 4-7 years old. Instructors will group children by age and ability into small, self-contained groups. We will take a brief break as needed. (usually outdoors).

*The ski school reserves the right to place children in the group that is appropriate for the individual before or during the lesson.

Group Lessons – Children (independent)

Group Lessons are appropriate for older children who can eventually ride the lifts independently without the instructor, generally 8 years of age or older. There may be some older 7 year olds in this group at the discretion of the ski school. 

Group Lessons - $105 Per Person

9:30 am - 11:30 am
1:15 pm - 3:15 pm

Free Riders - Advanced

This class is for advanced parallel skiers ages 8 to 12 that are pre-approved by the Ski School for all mountain activities. It is not designed for racing instruction but use of gates could be included as well as varied terrain and exercises that are appropriate for advanced skiers. This will be a fun fast-paced approach to skiing with somewhat larger groups in more of a team setting.

$80 Per Person

9:30 am -11:30 am
1:15 pm - 3:15 pm

Cross Country Lessons

Cross Country lessons will be available on the days that Ski Quechee is open if there is adequate snow on the golf course.

$80 for the first person
$40 for each additional person

Lesson times are as follows, we will meet on the front porch of The Base Lodge.

Snowboard Lessons

RENTALS

Henderson's Ski Shop is located at The Base Lodge and features Fischer and Volkl skis and Nordica boots. All equipment is meticulously maintained by our trained technicians. Rentals are turned, waxed and ready to go. Our telephone number is (802) 295-1973
